SearchLight - SpotLight on steroids

The Spotlight Search Metadata on your Mac is a truly remarkable thing. Given some text it is able to find all occurrences anywhere on the filesystem in the blink of an eye. At that this point your options are limited however. It's not easy to see where the matches are on your disk or where your search text occurs in the file before you open it. It's the same when you're using the search feature in Finder. Written originally to navigate around the Swift source tree, SearchLight is a small macOS utility that sets out resolve these problems. When you search for some text, it displays the filename and full path as links that can be clicked on. After each file it "greps" out the line in the file where the match occurs so you can see if it is relevant before opening the file. Inside the match is a link which takes you to a preview of the file, navigating directly to that point in the file where the match occurred. All in all it makes for a streamlined search experience.
