FoxTrot Professional Search builds full-text index files from documents on your disks and servers, making their contents accessible in a split second. All common document types (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, Apple Mail…) and any document type for which a Spotlight metadata importer plugin is present (over 300 file types altogether, plus file types supported by user-added Spotlight importer plugins) get indexed and become searchable using eight different search keys (Content, File name, Metadata…) with seven combinations (Includes all / any / none of the words, exact phrases, complex search strings…) and multiple search criteria. Optionally, a FoxTrot Search Server (sold separately) can be deployed for centralised indexing and searching. The iOS companion app FoxTrot Attaché Search (sold separately) lets you carry a plain text cache of all your indexed document content on an iPad or iPhone.
