Close Enough Clock

A next generation clock, a new and better way of telling time. What could be new about telling time? We're so used to analog and digital clocks that we've never asked the question, How do I want to see the time displayed? These old interfaces date from the Industrial Revolution. What other way is there to tell time? The way most of us, most of the time already do it--"five past, quarter past, half past"--rounded off to the nearest 5-minutes. We do it without realizing the labor involved and the potential errors, but the Close Enough Clock shows the rounding effortlessly and more accurately. How does it work? Any reader of the time must first acquire the hour number. The Close Enough Clock shows that number as large as the display will allow, making it legible at three times the distance of any other clock. Minutes? Is it 0, 59, or some number in between? The Close Enough Clock only displays 12 possibilities instead of 60. It's easy to grasp the approximate number of minutes past the hour without having to think "short-hand, long-hand" or "6 is close to five, 27 is close to twenty-five, or is that thirty?" This way of telling time will grow on you. Try it for a week.
