When connecting to the internet via WiFi, you typically use the existing internet-connected LAN free of charge. In contrast to WiFi, mobile internet is also available using a 3G/4G network with prepaid data packages, billed monthly depending on the amount of data delivered. If you exceed your monthly mobile data plan, mobile internet usage costs can soar, greatly increasing your communications costs.
