4Glob

4Glob is an application designed to track mobile internet usage. The application is designed for users who actively use mobile internet on their iPhone and iPad devices and are concerned about their communications costs. In order to access the Internet, you can use either WiFi or a 3G/4G mobile communications network. When connecting to the internet via WiFi, you typically use the existing internet-connected LAN free of charge. In contrast to WiFi, mobile internet is also available using a 3G/4G network with prepaid data packages, billed monthly depending on the amount of data delivered. If you exceed your monthly mobile data plan, mobile internet usage costs can soar, greatly increasing your communications costs. In addition, exceeding the data allowance can result in your mobile internet access services being inconveniently disconnected. In this regard, it is important to choose the right package to suit your data needs and to control your usage of mobile internet services so that you do not exceed your data plan, resulting in disconnection from the service (internet connection). If necessary, you can order a bigger data package in advance. The 4Glob application makes it possible to track mobile internet usage. The application is automatically activated periodically by changing the position of the device; it then checks the amount of data used and notifies the user when the defined data plan is exceeded. The application displays the following statistics regarding mobile internet use: the size of the monthly data plan, the amount of data used, the amount of data remaining for this period under the plan and the data traffic used during the current day. For added convenience, the application generates a graph to clearly depict the day-by-day mobile internet usage. The app also indicates on a map the locations at which statistics on internet use have been updated, as well as providing a "hint" as to where you use mobile internet most actively.
